Under the light of Seoul, KIMHĒKIM’s first decade unfolds anew.
Marking the maison’s tenth anniversary, KIMHĒKIM revisits the archive it has built over the past decade, reinterpreting it for the present. For its first show in Seoul, KIMHĒKIM brings together the pieces that have defined the maison, weaving them into a single narrative that traces the evolution of its distinctive aesthetic.
The stage is set against the Lotte World Tower. Conceived especially for the occasion, the venue brings together Seoul’s urban landscape and dynamic energy with KIMHĒKIM’s singular artistic sensibility, creating a scene where fashion, architecture, and the city converge.
SEOUL LIGHT evokes both the light that illuminates Seoul and the people who live and move within it—the Seoulites. Speed and stillness, restraint and exuberance, strength and delicacy coexist throughout the city. These contrasts find a natural resonance in the aesthetic tensions KIMHĒKIM has explored over the past ten years.
Pearls, ribbons, and sculptural hair pieces—recurring obsessions of the maison—unfold across silhouettes and textures from different moments in its history, forming a continuous spectrum shaped by intricate detailing and couture skills. Reframed through a new setting, styling, and mise-en-scène, familiar archival pieces emerge in a different light.
Seoul—the city where a new chapter in KIMHĒKIM’s story first took shape—transcends its role as a backdrop. Recast within the city’s light and landscape, the maison’s archive reflects the past decade while illuminating the chapter yet to unfold.
