Cheongdam flagship store
17-4 Dosan-daero 75-gil, Gangnam-gu Seoul 06015 Republic of Korea
Designed around the oriental interpretation of the ‘room’, the space is meant to expand towards all directions without boundaries.
As opposed to a typical commercial space, each unit greets visitors with warmth and comfort, unveiling the diverse gems/products of the KIMHĒKIM House.
28 Samcheong-ro 7-gil, Jongno-gu 03049 Republic of Korea
As a brand who praises his Korean roots persistently, KIMHĒKIM brings his appreciation to his culture at the heart of Seoul. The first flagship of the brand is opened around the symbol of the Korean dynasty and history, Gyeongbokgung Palace to keep the strong bonds with the legacy of Korean traditions. For the interior space, the brand has collaborated with the young talent SeungJi Mun, chosen as the designer of the year 2020.
For the showroom, he builds an open space with a mixture of wooden, metal, and glass textures. The racks resemble a canvas of an artist, turning the enlightened space into an artist atelier. Moreover, metal and glass displays are creating a modern contrast that adjusts with the brand’s DNA. A rock art piece is exhibited in the space, is brought from Gwanghwamun for this project. It reflects the dedication of cultural roots that consistently create harmony with the design approach of KIMHĒKIM.
